Quiet.
This was what Volkner was currently enjoying. No ungrateful ass citizen's to deal with no lame challengers trying to get past him, nope today he was just in his gym hacking away at some marvel or another scrapping the gyms current plans and getting ready to build or rather enact the next set of plans he'd drawn blueprints for not so long ago. There was something about making or drawing something and then having it truly come to life that he found amazing, and empowering. Not many people were able to bring their creations into existence while he did daily.
Indeed not much could ruin this day. Hell even the gym trainers were out doing something or another not that he cared too much. The world had been pretty peaceful as of late, and if not the world then at least Sinnoh as he hadn't been called in to lead the other 7 misfits into any sort of battle yet.
Volkner didn't dislike the other gym leaders of his region hell he'd even admit they were a powerful force, on he'd rather have on his side than against, but that didn't change the fact they were a group of unorderly erratic people. Though that was what he liked about them they kept things interesting when they were around. People who fought with their fists were becoming rarer these days, and his gym leaders were bringing that back by simply existing and passing on their word. While he undid another lever and removed another couple of gears he couldn't help but wonder if other gym leaders were the same, in particular a rather sparky one he hadn't heard from in awhile came to mind.

Power was such an interesting word - and one that Elesa had oftentimes found herself musing about. She was rather thoughtful, and it was rather a plain word in truth, but there were so many meanings behind it. The ability to give something life was to power it - if you had strength you were powerful and electricity itself was power. It was part of her very genetic makeup to idly ponder power and ponder she did.
Power - the electrical kind - was part of the reason she had ventured unflanked by fans and cameras to Sunyshore. It was always an enlightenment to find herself in the city where Volkner lived and worked simply because of his constant tinkering - moreso in his gym, but the city itself was a powerhouse. She had wandered her way into the gym without really thinking about it, if she was honest. Elesa had never been the type to call ahead and speak to the person about what she was doing, after all.
Hearing the clatter and clang of gears and tinkering (the sound that was most associated with the Sunyshore gym) Elesa slipped around a few corners until she could see the blonde-haired Sinnoh leader working away. A smirk tugged at her lips and she easily allowed it too. Her comfortable, overworn sneakers squeaking on the floor was the first announcement of her arrival and her intention to approach.
Walking up to the slightly older man and perching herself against an opposite wall - one that wasn't in the midst of destruction - she folded her arms behind herself to settle into her space and watch whatever it was her friend was doing. Tinkering, fixing. "Hard at work as ever, I see. You should tinker in other people's gyms, their towns might appreciate it more." She quipped, dry amusement in her voice, "I was in the neighbourhood and thought you might like some company, you've probably missed me after all." Though vain and full of herself she might be, Elesa didn't truly believe he'd have longed after her presence.
More than anything, she figured if she helped him toy with his gym, he might help her work on her own power issues. Electrical specialists should unite, after all.
