[atrb=valign, top] "Where's my wallet?" The man looked puzzled and her Ditto changed the smile on her face to a concerned frown. "It's gone? How could that be?" She widened her currently hazel eyes and bit her lower lip. Feigning innocence was her favorite part of being a thief, aside from the payoff of course. She enjoyed proving just how good of an actress she was, especially around those who didn't even know what her true face looked like. Currently, she had plump glossy lips and platinum blonde waves. The man before her was her last victim of the day, as she had only been able to find three people she could successfully pickpocket without them knowing.
"I dunno, but it was just here a minute ago!" She noted the panic in his eyes as he dug into his pockets for a second time. "There was a street show today and they normally gather large crowds... Do you think anyone took it there? Or maybe you dropped it while walking?" She had taken it while he was enamored by the performers, but he didn't need to know that. She was supposed to be an innocent civilian who was oh so kindly offering her assistance. "I... I think I just dropped it! No one in Pallet would steal," Oh, how wrong he was! She nodded and offered a bright smile. "Well, I hope you find your wallet soon, sir! I must be on my way now," She watched him thank her for her help before walking off, mumbling about what he had done prior to meeting her.
Brielle Morgan, Blue to her friends, turned on her heel then, sauntering away with a grin plastered onto her face. It was so easy to steal these days! No one ever suspected a thing, especially not in Pallet. Her hometown was too pure, hardly a crime ever even recorded until she arrived. She'd made quite a mess since becoming a resident in the small town. Multiple items had gone missing from marketplaces and shops alike, not to mention people had begun finding their personal possessions gone. The way she saw it, she was giving the police officers a job and she was giving some excitement to the otherwise uneventful place.
"They'd be out of a damn job if I didn't cause so much trouble," She mused to herself, reaching up to take her Ditto into her arms. The pink glob willingly went with a big smile on it's face and she cradled it gently, returning the smile with ease. "You were just a big help today, thank you!" Blue cooed, snuggling her Pokemon close to her chest. It stayed within her arms for a while, content with just being cuddled up again her while she ventured back toward her home. It was a long walk, considering she just had to pick a house dead smack in the middle of route 1, but she didn't mind it. She didn't make it out of Pallet, however, when she noticed a figure that looked awfully familiar...

"well first you have to weaken it. show them how it's done pika!"
red can't help but grin at the feelings of nostalgia. it had been years since he first set out on his journey to become a pokemon master. it had been months since his last return home but even now he could rely on the vribrant youths of pallet town to give him a worthy homecoming. with a soft turn of his cap, he pointed at the curious rattata before commanding pikachu to attack. the stronger pokemon would let off a small spark, firing it at the unsuspecting rattata and rendering it unconscious.
"after you weaken it then you throw the pokeball," he instructs.
he plucks an empty pokeball from his belt before tossing it. naturally, it lands, sucking up the knocked out rattata and sealing it inside. with a sheepish grin, he holds the pokeball out before handing it to one of the kids.
"take good care of him now, okay?"
they gasp with admiration before scampering off, alreadying shifting their attention to their new friend. watching them run off reminds him of his younger days, of easier times. he's older now - more experienced. but even so, somethings never change.
"blue?"
red whispers the question to himself as he spots a feminine figure not too far away. it's been a while but he can't forget one of his closest friends. he waves, feeling a sudden rush blossom inside before running over to greet her.
"hey blue!"

[atrb=valign, top] She blinked those bright blue eyes as she watched the figure wave, taking notice of the group of small children scampering off to play after being with the figure. A smile spread across her lips and she laughed, waving back. She placed her Ditto atop her head before launching herself at the oncoming male.
"Red!" The brunette found herself squealing, bright eyed and bushy tailed. It wasn't everyday she saw Red, after all! It'd been months at least since they'd seen each other. Hell, she hadn't even talked to him since then! It was a bit disappointing to not talk to someone who she used to be so close to, however. They had traveled together, risked their lives for the greater good of humanity. Granted it wasn't just the two of them, but that definitely brings people closer together! She had thought they were practically best friends, but no contact in months wasn't a good sign of friendship. Pulling away, she managed her best scowl at him.
"You think you can just show up unannounced after months of not talking?" She crossed her arms over her chest. "You have some nerve, Red!" Blue growled out, stomping her foot. It was aggravating to have him just cease all contact with her! She couldn't help the weird feeling of butterflies that seemed to flutter about in her stomach, however... She pushed the weird feeling from her mind and narrowed her eyes. "You better have a pretty damn good explanation." She looked away then, knowing all too well that her anger was just a half-assed attempt to cover up that feeling of abandonment that she was so familiar with. She hadn't seen the rest of her friends in a while and she felt empty without them... Sure, Red was here now, but how long would it last? She guessed not very long, since everyone always managed to somehow leave in the end. template made by oxymoron! of back to neverland | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:400px; padding-bottom: 20px, bTable]

after so long apart red couldn't help but take her into an embrace. it may be a deviation from his normal behaviors but he can't help it. there's too much bundled up affection pent up from his time alone. the warmth of something other than his pokemon is comforting to say the least. he enjoys it while he can while muttering her name once more.
"i'm sorry," he starts. he should've known to expect some backlash for suddenly up and leaving. sure, he told his mother and professor oak but he couldn't help it. becoming the best has always been his most important priority. the eagerness behind his departure stand as his convictions for that promise.
"but i'm back now"
he's grown up enough to admit his mistake. red can't make up for lost time but at least he can do something with the time he has left. with an embarrassed laugh he tries to shrug it off. he can't really answer her question so he moves onto the next topic.
"for good - i promise!"

[atrb=valign, top] Blue inhaled sharply when he pulled her in, her eyes going wide. Any anger she had was now gone as she relaxed against him. He felt warm, familiar, safe. She heard him utter her name and she sighed in response, snuggling closer. She knew it was going to end relatively quickly and so she wiggled away, offering a small smile.
"I... Just don't leave again," She mumbled, looking away. Her teeth found her lower lip and she bit down, nibbling on the skin there. It helped for some reason. "but i'm back now" She stopped what she was doing and looked up at him through her lashes, lip still caught between her teeth. If he was lying... So help him, Arceus. "No sudden departures? No more leaving Pallet?" Blue scoffed lightly and crossed her arms defensively. "Somehow I find you staying here for good somewhat hard to believe." It was true. He was known for traveling, for searching for new ways to challenge himself. It would be hard for him to stay here for so long and she knew it. He was a free bird, never one to settle down in one place for so long when there was new places to explore. Sure, Pallet was his home and his mother was here, but that didn't stop him before... He always did return home, however. That thought was at least somewhat comforting to the brunette. No matter where he went, he always managed to visit their small town.
Her eyes narrowed at his laugh, noting that nothing was exactly funny at the moment. She set her lips into a firm line, gaze not moving from him. "for good - i promise!" Blue looked down then, nodding gently. She didn't exactly know if he was going to keep his promise or not. Sometimes, promises just turned out to be nothing but empty words and false hope and she could honestly say that she hoped he'd keep his word. She spoke softly then, refusing to look up at him. "It's nice when you're around, Red." template made by oxymoron! of back to neverland | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:400px; padding-bottom: 20px, bTable]

"i won't."
silence. he lets it settle in. the wind become the only noise between the two and red can only soak in the ambiance.
"i've missed you too, blue."
it's going to take some reassuring but red stands by his words. there's no going back on a promise - not one to a friend. the only problem is that their definitions of "here" are very different. to think of staying in pallet town forever? red knows that's impossible. there too big of a world out there for him to stay cooped up in this little town. maybe when he grows old and tired but not now. he's much too young, much too free.
"but... i can't stay in pallet forever, blue."
it's soft.
solemn.
he knows it'll break her heart all over again but she has to come to terms. "but i'll take you with me. we can grab green and yellow and travel the world. it'll be just like old times." it's the most red can do to comfort her. even if he were to settle down he has responsibilities. did she expect the same from green? as the last of the pallet trio, to expect green to abandon their gym would be nothing short of unreasonable. but then again, viridian was always a short walk away. at least he was reachable.

[atrb=valign, top] The brunette bit her lip at his words. He said he wouldn't leave again, but something in her just told her that it wasn't that simple. She almost felt relieved with the silence. It was welcoming, swallowing them up. There was no tension, only lingering words that were already spoken. He spoke then and she tasted iron. "i missed you too, blue." She licked her lower lip, swiping at the little drop of crimson that had formed. She knew she had made it too obvious that she missed him. It was hard not to...
"You did?" Her voice was soft, unsure. She looked around them, trying to find something to focus on. Anything but him, for she felt so vulnerable and it was hard to look at him now. She stepped away from him in an attempt to somehow distance herself. Blue knew it'd only last for so long, however. "but... i can't stay in pallet forever, blue." Her heart seemed to drop a little. He'd leave her and she'd be alone all over again. Sure, Green and Yellow were just a little while away, but she wanted him to be there, to be with her.
"but i'll take you with me. we can grab green and yellow and travel the world. it'll be just like old times." She frowned at this. It wasn't that simple. They had responsibilities; Green had the gym, Red had his travels, and even Yellow was traveling to see new Pokemon. She hadn't done anything in a while, however. Her life seemed to be here in Pallet, even though she didn't have much to do. Aside from pick-pocketing, she merely trained. Both could be done anywhere, so why was she still in town? Maybe it was the hope that something exciting would happen and she'd have something to do, or even the possibility that she could be of use to someone. "You know as well as I do that it wouldn't work." Her tone was slightly cold and she turned her head away then. "I want to leave Pallet. Maybe go to Unova, who knows. There's nothing much here for me to do anymore." Blue spoke softly, almost sadly. It was hard having this conversation and she wanted to hit herself for even bringing it up, but somethings just have to be said. template made by oxymoron! of back to neverland | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:400px; padding-bottom: 20px, bTable]

watching her draw blood was nerve-racking to say the least. there was nothing more he wanted to do other than to wipe the stain off her lips. tell it would be alright. that he'd be there for her forever. but he didn't. moments like these make him timid, afraid. red's too scared to say the wrong thing - to hurt someone so close to his heart.
"of course, blue! you're one of my closest friends."
that wasn't a question for him. blue was just stuck in disbelief, torn on whether or not to trust him. or at least that's what he figured. he couldn't blame her though. she'd know him just as well as he did her. it's only natural.
"why not?"
now red was confused. since the last time they talked blue had no obligations to pallet town. her parents lived on the sevii islands and her friends were out and about. what kept her to the dainty little town. red couldn't grasp it and probably never would.
"then go. come with me. there's a great big world out there just waiting for you."

[atrb=valign, top] She ignored the warm little droplets forming from her cut and instead focused on her friend as he spoke. He missed her because they were close, but if they were so close, then why did he leave her? Friends didn't leave friends behind. At least, she thought they didn't. Maybe they did. She wasn't an expect on the area of friendship. Before the other three pokedex holders, she only had one friend and that was Silver. He had left her too in the end, which had always left her wondering what had happened. Red had left her, as had her first friend. She was actually slightly surprised Yellow or Green hadn't left yet either. Green was tied to the gym, but Yellow wasn't... Why hadn't she left yet?
"why not?" She sighed softly and turned to him, her eyes connecting with his. "Everyone else has responsibilities, things to do." 'without me,' She finished in her head, not wanting to actually speak those words. They kind of hurt too much, even when she just thought of them. Maybe because they were more than slightly true.
"then go. come with me. there's a great big world out there just waiting for you." Her eyes widened and she bit her lip once more. The world might be great and big, but she highly doubted it was waiting for her. She wasn't anything super special. At least, not anymore. She was a thief and a girl who couldn't surpass her friends even if she tried. There wasn't exactly anything worth waiting for as far as she was concerned. "I... You'd actually go with me?" She paused, looking down at her boot clad feet. "I don't know what I'd actually do there... It was just a thought." She actually just wanted to see some new pokemon, maybe battle a gym leader or two. She wasn't sure what to do anymore, however. Her one dream was shot down by rumors of Pryce returning and she didn't exactly want to find a new one. There wasn't much to dream of anymore, not when she couldn't beat half the people she wanted to. Blue glanced back up at him and tried her hardest to change the subject. "Have you been by to see Green yet?" template made by oxymoron! of back to neverland | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:400px; padding-bottom: 20px, bTable]

"only green, right?"
of course there was always green and his gym. outside of that, and his champion duties, the rest of the kanto dex holder should be relatively free. but time had passed. maybe yellow and blue had invested into something red had missed. was missing all that time worth it? was it worth having the world move on without him? either way, red promised himself to never regret - only to move forward.
"of course!"
did he really have to convince her? had all this time really eroded her confidence? if anyone were to hold a candle to red's pride he would've picked blue as his equal.
"it doesn't matter. that's the wonderful thing about it all. there's so much to do; so much to see!"
red would've delved deeper until blue mentioned green, his oldest friend.
"i haven't. you're the first person i've ran into."

[atrb=valign, top] Blue shrugged her bare shoulders. Green was practically chained to the gym, but that didn't mean that he was the only one with responsibilities. Both Red and Yellow had been traveling as far as she knew and to her, that was kind of a responsibility to themselves. Seeing as much as they could while they were still young was more than enough responsibility for one person. "I dunno. Yellow's been traveling lately." Her tone was cool and she crossed her arms over her chest once more.
"Of course!" She didn't know why she was so against believing him. Maybe it was the sudden abandonment from Silver or Red leaving without even telling her that made her so wary. She was seeking reassurance that she wasn't just some phase of his childhood that was over now. It seemed to be that way as far as Green went... "It doesn't matter. That's the wonderful thing about it all. There's so much to do; so much to see!" His words broke her train of thought and she looked up at him, blinking. There was an entire region that she had never been to and the idea of exploring it was certainly somewhat thrilling. She wanted to better herself, face new challenges and new people that could test her and her abilities and Kanto wasn't offering that to her anymore.
"So many battles to win." She cracked a grin at last, her eyes twinkling with that determination that was just so Blue. It'd been a month or two since her last battle and her Pokemon were growing a bit restless. They loved to help her scheme, but it just wasn't the same as being in a battle and not even training was beginning to keep them excited and ready for anything. She had to keep them happy and if it meant going to a different region where they could further their battling, then so be it. She'd be damned, however, if she had to go to a new place alone.
"I haven't. You're the first person I've ran into." She was the first person to see him since he left? Not even his mother had seen him yet? A sudden pride swelled up in her at this information as, to her, it meant she mattered. "You better be happy about running into me," Blue playfully winked and brushed a lock of hair out of her face. "You might not see him for a while. He's on some strict brooding schedule where all he does is sit in the gym and stare at a wall." It was half true, at least. Green was rather notorious for his broody, slightly antisocial ways and she enjoyed poking fun at him for it as much as she possibly could. Perhaps that was why she was deemed pesky. She didn't mind, though, so long as Red and Yellow liked her enough. "Mind coming back home with me? I've got some stuff to put away." The stuff being everything she managed to take from town, but he didn't need to know everything. template made by oxymoron! of back to neverland | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:400px; padding-bottom: 20px, bTable]

her body language made it quite clear that she still doubted him. it bothered him that she didn't trust him but red kept it to himself. it was his fault after all. all he could do now was comfort her and try to persuade her otherwise. he was the hero of kanto - never one to break a promise. blue's days of loneliness were over.
"and that's only the beginning."
odd as it seemed, his time atop mount silver had matured red well beyond his years. battling wasn't everything. it was only a means to an end. people, friends, family; that's what really mattered. sure battling served as a medium to bring them together but nothing could replace the people in his lives. he would take the time to appreciate them.
he would take the time to appreciate blue.
"i am," red blurted out. suddenly he felt nervous. blue had always teased him in odd ways - girly ways - and usually he shrugged it off. she was just being a girl. so why did he feel so embarrassed with instantly responding to her statement? he didn't know but he tried to downplay the warmness that culminated around his cheeks. as warm as they were, red had yet to turn... red.
"yeah, sure. i could use a small break to catch up with you anyway. so, uh, how are your parents?"

[atrb=valign, top] "And that's only the beginning." He was right. There was so much more to do than just find new people to battle. There were sights to see, people to steal from, and new pokemon to catch. She smiled at the thought. She wouldn't be bored anymore, resulting to snatching anything she could just for some amusement. It would be good for her to leave Kanto for a while, not forever, but long enough to experience new things. "Have you ever been there before, to Unova?" She had a slight inkling that he might've been, but she wasn't exactly sure.
His quick answer satisfied the girl. She hummed her approval and turned away, a warm feeling blossoming. It was nice to know he was glad to have ran into her. "Yeah, sure. I could use a small break to catch up with you anyway. So, uh, how are your parents?" She nodded before starting to lead him toward route 1. Her house wasn't far away from where they were now and it would be a relatively short walk. "They're good, I guess." She shrugged. They didn't check in much and when they did, they only asked her questions. Whenever she asked about how they were doing, they gave her short, one worded answers. "They check in sometimes, but they really only ask about me." She looked ahead, biting her lip. "How's your mom? And Professor Oak? Have you talked to them lately?" She had seen them around town a few times, but never stopped to talk. She was almost positive that they had mixed feelings about her, anyway, so she had always steered clear of their part of town after a while. Blue frowned, pushing her thoughts away. She wanted nice, happy thoughts, like being with Red or having some money. Turning back to Red, she grinned.
